Jacob's words

I have been meaning to make a list of all the words Jacob has been saying these days. His vocabulary is getting so big I am not sure I will remember it all but I am going to try.

Here goes....

Yea-NO-Peas(please)-Up-Down-Socks-Hat-Hair-Foot-Side(slide)-Fish-Shoe-AwwMan-Nah-

Uh-oh-Thankyou(except he hums it, but we know what he means)-Vroom vroom-Bath-Bo(my mom's dog)-Sure-More-Eli (but it comes out I-E)-Hotdoooog-Diaper-Off-On-Oso(cartoon character)-Dada-Mama (in his sweet voice and monster voice)-Umma(Grandma)-Papa-Elmo-Hmm (with his best thinking face)-All done!

I know there is more and so I will have to just keep posting them as I remember. He is learning so much so quick its hard to keep up!

Im With The Band

This weekend was full of fun, sun and a few 1st for Jacob as well. On Saturday we went to our friends cottage on Lake Wisconsin. It was a lot of fun because the friends were our marching band friends. We normally only get together with this group of people during football season while Arick and the rest of the guys, and girl are conducting on the sidelines. It was so great to catch up with this group of people. I am looking forward to seeing them all again at the drum major try outs in August.

So for the 1st I was talking about...Jacob had M&M's for the 1st time. I know not that big of a deal but HE sure thought it was, so I think its totally worth mentioning. The 2nd 1st was a ride on the Merrimac ferry which we all thougt was pretty great. Then lastly Jacob had his first boat ride! I was a little nervous for this because I had no idea how he was going to do, but he really did do a fantastic job. He LOVED every minute of it...even the end when he was ready for his nap. He got a real kick out of the sounds and the feeling when he laid on the floor of the boat. If it wasnt for that pesky life jacket (that mean old mom and dad made him keep on) I am positive he would of been fast asleep.

Scharenberg's with the Venable's!

As always we had a fantastic day with the Venables up at Scharenberg's White Lake! Jacob of course was loved, hugged, and kissed by everyone. He had a great time playing in the sand and watching the big boys toss the baseball around, but I will have to say the SIDE (slide) was his favorite. I wish I would of gotten a picture but I was already in the water with him and his Dada was enjoying some male bonding with my uncles. I did not have the heart to make a scene and pull him away from all the laughs they were having on the beach. Oh well, in August we will for sure get plenty of pictures of his big smile when he goes down the SIDE. I am pretty sure thats all he talked about while we were in the water and on the beach. Anyone who would look at him he would point to the slide and repeat over and over and over SIDE, SIDE, SIDE, SIDE. Of course the slide he has at home is not nearly as neat as the one that is in the water!!

After we were all done with the slides and water fun we all took a walk with my dad around the golf course and Jacob loved watching the peacocks roaming around. I love the sound of Peacocks because it reminds me of Scharenberg's however they are very loud and Jacob was startled a few times. No crying but he deffinently backed up! I can not believe how fast they got to him in the first place, but I suppose when you are so use to the people. Scharenberg's had a new addition this year that we also enjoyed meeting. It was a beautiful talking bird that said all sorts of things. Hello, Pretty Bird, Polly want a cracker?, and my favorite Pretty lady, Pretty lady.


Well onto the "1 year later" pictures I talked about posting before. Arick and I were so busy having fun and catching up with family we forgot to do family pictures, but I still got a ton of great pictures of Jacob. When Arick, Jacob and I go up in August for our very own 1 week family vacation we will make sure of getting LOTS of family pictures. But for the real reason for these few pictures I am posting...CAN YOU BELIVE HOW BIG HE HAS GOTTEN??? Crazy what a difference 1 year makes!

What a difference a year can make!

We are headed back up to Scharenbergs White Lake Beach Resort with the Venable family. We are only going for the day, but the good news is we will be going back in August for our very own 1st Family Vacation!! We got our own cabin and get to spend an entire week together focused only on each other. I know Jacob is going to LOVE this fantastic resort and I can not wait to show him all the fun things I use to do as a child at White Lake.
Alright so in great anticipation I thought I would post a few pictures from last years trip. It will be fun to compare to this years pictures when we get back next week.

Not to mention that memory of how much fun they were having together.

My First Post

Well I have decided that another BLOG is what I need...but this time it will be all about my family! Not that we are the most exciting family ever (ok well I think we are) but I thought it would be fun to share with you what we are up to.
